WHAT WE DO
Research
ETF Robotics combines basic research in robotics and biomechanics with their human-centric applications in Industry 5.0 and healthcare. The main research directions are physical human-robot collaboration, robot control including control of compliant actuators and soft robots, and human motion analysis and prediction. We aim to spread the use of collaborative robots in industrial, medical and home environments by exploring human motion and interaction patterns as an inspiration for inherently safe, efficient and intelligent robot behaviour/control. For more details, see our page – Research.
Services
“ETF Robotics’ mission is to shape and support the Serbian and regional robotics innovation ecosystem. To achieve this, we offer services such as: proof-of-concept lab development (adapting advanced hardware and software up to TRL 6/7), collaborative research (pushing the limits of robotics technologies up to TRL 3/4), funding access and brokerage (leveraging our pan-European presence), training in robot programming (ROS, ABB RobotStudio), and organizing student competitions and hackathons (connecting students with real-world challenges and industry needs). For more details, visit our Services page.”
Laboratory
ETF Robotics lab provides cutting-edge robotic platforms for research and education: collaborative mobile robot (Franka Research III on Robotnik omniwheel mobile platform), Neura Robotics Maira M pro+, Panda robot by Franka Emika, QB variable stiffness actuated robot, soft robot testbed, IRB120 by ABB, VG6577 by Denso robotics, SCARA SR-3ia by Fanuc and TurtleBots as mobile platforms for ROS education. For more details, see our page – Laboratory
Projects
Projects are of utmost importance for our group to keep in touch with the latest technology developments, provide opportunities for our members to connect to their peers across Europe, and, therefore, create attractive opportunities for young scientists and engineers to do robotics in Belgrade! ETF Robotics has participated in numerous projects about the development and innovative applications of robots, AI and extended reality in human-centric environments and especially SMEs, from the Horizon programme (CITADELS, MUSAE, DIH-HERO, DIH2, MINDtheGEPs), Horizon cascade scheme funding (Master-XR, Reinforcing, SHOP4CF, ReconCell), Interreg Danube region (BrAIn), Interreg Europe (NOTRE), and Serbian Science Fund (ForNextCobot, CircuBot, AIFitnessAssistant). For more details see our project page – Projects.
Education
Following the mission of ETF, ETF Robotics group members and other colleagues at the Signals and Systems Department are committed to meeting the highest standards in pedagogy and engineering education. We provide electrical and computer engineering students with basic academic knowledge in robotics, advanced manufacturing technologies, autonomous mobile robots, robot programming, human-robot interaction, biomechanics, and neurorobotics. Our education methodology involves mentored support, hands-on practice, modern equipment, active student engagement with cutting-edge robotics hardware and software, and group and problem-solving assignments. It cultivates practical skills and innovation for real-world challenges.
Partners
We work in close collaboration with leading laboratories in Serbia and abroad. In Serbia, our partners include research groups at the School of Electrical Engineering, the Mihajlo Pupin Institute, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad. Internationally, we collaborate with partners in Slovenia, France, Italy, and across Europe. Our work is also supported by industry leaders such as ABB Serbia, Siemens, Fanuc Serbia, and many others.
