ETF Robotics is a research group at the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, within the Department of Signals and Systems. Our mission is to serve as a central hub and driving force for advancing robotics research, education, and applications in Serbia and the wider Southeast European region. We specialize in modeling, simulation, control, and real-world deployment of robotic systems, with a strong focus on safe, efficient, intelligent, and autonomous interaction of robots across industry, healthcare, and everyday life.
Historical foundations
ETF Robotics builds on the legacy of the renowned Belgrade School of Robotics, established in the 1960s by world-recognized scientists and academicians Miomir Vukobratović (author of the ZMP theory and creator of the world’s first exoskeleton) and Rajko Tomović (inventor of the first hand prosthesis – the Belgrade Hand). Together with Prof. Veljko Potkonjak, founder of robotics at ETF, they shaped not only our scientific direction but also the global landscape of humanoid and industrial robotics.
